Worship involves all that we do together as the body of believers. At Jamestown Christian Church, we worship God through reading the Bible; listening to the preaching of God's Word; sharing in an offering of our gifts and tithes; and spending time in fellowship between services.
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” - John 4:23-24 (NIV)
Jamestown Christian Church is blessed with a great Praise and Worship Ministry. The mission of this ministry is to prepare the hearts of those attending for worship and accepting the Word.
The style of music is diverse in both our 8:30 and 10:45am services. You will participate in services that include Contemporary, Southern Gospel, and Traditional Hymns. Each Sunday is different and offers an opportunity for each individual to share in their desired worship style.
Communion is available every week during both services. We practice open communion and invite all Christians to partake of the bread and juice as they are served.
As a guest, you are not expected to make an offering, but certainly may if you are so led. Offerings are made by our members as part of their commitment to God and the church. As Christians, we give as we have been blessed out of our love for our Lord and Savior. If you are visiting with us, feel free to pass the plates. Our prayer is that you receive a blessing from the service.
We have many young children at JCC, and so we understand that young children are not adults! To help you with babies and toddlers we have an attended nursery on Sunday mornings during worship services, as well as Youth Church for children K-5th grades. We have Sunday School class offerings for all age groups. The greeters will be glad to point you in the right direction.
We generally have about 225-250 people in combined attendance between our 8:30 am and 10:45 am Sunday morning worship services.
On Sunday mornings, we encourage you to talk with any of our congregation, they will be glad to answer any questions you may have or put you in contact with someone that can assist. If you prefer a more confidential way of asking, you may fill out our Connection Card (in each week’s bulletin), drop in the offering plate as it is passed and ask that someone call you. You may also contact the church office at 270-343-4570 and we will be glad to assist you. We look forward to getting to know you!
